Survey Technician / Shannon Sinnen

Hi, my name is Shannon Sinnen. I am a survey technician at Westwood and have been for 7 glorious years.  I am involved in the daily operation of a fast-paced survey team and lately, I have been working on quite a few wind farm projects. 

When it comes to duties as they pertain to surveying, you name it - I’ve done it. The wide range of responsibilities and challenges is something I really like about working at Westwood.  I get to follow a job from start to finish. I do the research for a boundary survey and then follow it all the way to record as-built drawings. The variety keeps me interested. Westwood uses the latest in survey technology. All of  the equipment is first-class.  I’m not sure but I would guess we have more GPS equipment than MnDOT!  The use of this cutting-edge technology also makes my hours very flexible.  As a working mother, that is very important to me.
